Invitation to 75th anniversary of the 16th Field Regiment | Korea

Invitation to 75th anniversary of the 16th Field Regiment | Korea

Thursday, 4 December 2025, 10:45am to 2:30pm
Linton Military Camp
Palmerston North

On Thursday 4 December 2025, Korean War veterans are invited to celebrate the formation of the 16th Field Regiment at Linton Military Camp. The Regiment was born in 1950 in response to the Korean conflict. Over 4,720 officers and soldiers from NZ served in Korea, with many coming from the 16th Field Regiment.

We would love for former members of the 16th Field Regiment and all Korean War veterans to attend this anniversary and take part in the occasion. We cordially invite all Korean War veterans, both Gunners and non-Gunners alike.

Anniversary Day

The Regiment would like to welcome guests to a lunch at Linton Military Camp. This will be followed by a tour of the Regimental lines and display of current in-service guns and equipment.

Guests should arrive at Linton Military Camp's main gate between 10:45am and 11:15am, where they will then be directed to suitable parking.

The Gun Run

The Regiment will mark the anniversary by conducting a 75-kilometre Gun Run. It will begin at 4:00pm on Wednesday 3 December, and will aim to be concluded at 11:55am on Thursday 4 December, to allow for the one-round salute to be fired on the 16th Field Regiment parade ground at 12:00pm. This salute signifies the first rounds fired in Korea in January 1951.

To register for the anniversary

Please email Second Lieutenant Lewis Dellabarca before Tuesday 4 November 2025.
