Commemorative Project Contribution
Commemorative Project Contribution
Commemorative Project Contributions support NZ based projects that recognise veterans' sacrifice. This includes reunions and public memorials.
Who can get this
Projects might be able to get a Commemorative Project Contribution if they:
- are NZ based, and
- commemorate NZ veterans’ enduring contributions through Qualifying Operational Service.
Qualifying Operational Service explained
We are unable to fund projects that are outside of New Zealand.
Project types
A project must be either a:
- reunion event
- memorial that is free to the general public
- publication
- education programme open to NZ students, or
- NZ team's participation in the Invictus Games.
What you can get
Eligible projects can get up to a maximum of NZD$5,000.
How we calculate the contribution depends on the type of project.
Reunions
Groups can apply for a contribution towards reunions that commemorate Qualifying Operational Service.
Qualifying Operational Service explained
Funding for reunions is based on the number of veterans who attend the event. Our contribution will be NZD$50 for each veteran who attends the event.
For a veteran's attendance to qualify for funding, they must have Qualifying Operational Service related to the reunion's purpose.
All other projects
For all other projects, community groups can get up to NZD$5,000.
We are a "last call contributor", which means all costs beyond our contribution must be confirmed before we make a contribution.
